Neverwinter Nights

Neverwinter Nights is a computer role-playing game published by Atari in 2002. The game was based on the concept of building a internet-like model for a massively multiplayer game, allowing the end users to host the server. The belief was this model would create a potentially infinite massively multiplayer game framework, and this prediction was indeed fulfilled. There are many gameworlds in Neverwinter Nights, each of them is based on different fantasy settings, such as The Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, The Wheel of Time, Westeros, Tolkein, as well as original settings (such as us). Each gameworld has different rules, some enforcing role-playing rules, some not so vigorously and some not at all. Some are only online during particular hours to run "campaign", and some are "persistent worlds" (PW), available at every hour of the day, like us.

While you may find many role-playing gameworlds in Neverwinter Nights, no one is more dedicated to realism and role-play. Realism in a fantasy universe may seem like a contradictory term, but consider that by realism we mean a more "realistic design" than most. In addition, no one else features permadeath, which means that once your character dies, it cannot return to life. Unlike anywhere else, we also give power to players to run their own gameworld. So, if you're looking for a place truly dedicated to fantasy role-playing, look no further.
