Cyanthus Dread Mistres (contributed by dark_majic)
[Cyanthus "The Devilous" was created from the darkness, a great force of evil balancing the scales of the universe. Perhaps this is why the Arch Angel does not rally his angels to destroy him and cleanse the world of his presence. Cyanthus despises the angels and forces of good. Jealous of their power, and companionship. Born of this jealousy and hatred is a desire to create his own arch-devils so that he may bask in the darkness with others and 'tip' the scales in his favour]
Cyanthus once plucked a mortal girl from the world below, a wandering gypsy girl. Her beauty was unmatched in the lands, her skin was lightly tanned, 'sun kissed', her hair was thick and full of life, her lips where as red as blood and her eyes a luscious green. She could dance like no other and play the violin. Once he took her for himself he rejoiced, but frightened the Arch Angel Avengard would see his villainous dead (for the gypsy girl did not want to be taken) he hid her from their sight as best he could. He plunged her into utter darkness and wreaked havoc on her mortal form, Cyanthus spared her from death but cursed her to forever appear lifeless and drained. Her skin turned a deathly white and her hair fell lifeless and limp, patches of blackened skin cover her body and the left portion of her face, her eyes are a cold blue and her body is massively underweight, almost skeletal. Cyanthus adores his mortal girl and now takes her as his mistress, in his eyes she is beautiful and he keeps a constant jealous eye upon her so that she will not slip from his grasp into death, and for the fear that others will find her as radiant as he and try to take her from him. He gives her no powers in the hope that this will keep her hidden from the Angels and Arch Angel Avengards gaze.

Her mortal name was Ruby of a lost gypsy tribe 'Soni', it is said the blood red stones that cover the earth are her blood that fell to earth when she was plunged into darkness. Those who secretly worship Cyanthus deal in Ruby's and collect the precious gems often forming small easily hidden shrines set with the blood red stones. Cyanthus has given Ruby a new name, but will not reveal it to others as he regards his loves new name as much as a closely guarded secret as his dread mistress herself and beleives those who know her true name will take her from him.

The tale does not end here however, although his dread mistress still resides with him, over the ages a bitter hatred has grown within her toward him over his discretion not to grant her power. She clings to him so to continue her existence but yearns for power of her own. Cyanthus often consults his dread mistress for he believes her council to be perfect and hold infinite wisdom, in truth she manipulates him in the hope that one day she might be granted the gifts she yearns.
Cyanthus and his Dread Mistress are sometimes depicted together, but it is not uncommon for her to be alone. Many secretly adore the Dread Mistress as a second hidden evil in the world. Those who lurk in the shadow and plot in secret often hold high regard for her, in particular woman trapped in loveless or abusive marriages hold a place in their heart for her. For she is shackled to his side as they are to their husbands.
